~wopila tanka~ words that roll off the tongue in gentle rhythmic harmony, spreading smiles across the miles when you speak these words that mean ~many thanks~ for even the tiniest kindness and gentle gesture of caring and sharing amplifies the magical melody of friendship in every note that floats upon the four winds ~wopila tanka~ from me to you for taking time to read my thoughts, and to reply but more importantly, for taking time to bare your soul as you share your thoughts through poetry and prose ~wopila tanka~ |

Midnitesun, Your light brightens our darkest nights and beams even brighter in our hearts. Wopila Tanka, barely comes close to the feelings we have for your tallents that you share with us. Love, Tracey. |

Kacy, what wonderful balm for the spirit! You are an absolute marvel! In the midst of your hardships, you still spread such love, healing, comfort and joy! Thank YOU!!! This is one of the most beautiful and altruistic poems I have ever read, even by the standards of YOUR poetry and definitely my latest favourite of gems! Owl |

The Great Spirit or Great Mystery (God) is Wakan Tanka. Does your comment roughly translate to: "My friend, the Great Spirit would enjoy this fine write"??? I'm afraid my Lakhota vocabulary is quite limited, and would have to call friend Kevin Locke, Lakota hoop dancer and a Baha'i. |

OIHA KE WANIL WAKATAHA O IYOKIPI Um, I hope I didn't say anything naughty. (I have a knack.) I think it translates, "Forever, from on high, lovely!" That would be you, darlin'. |

LOL, Karen, I can't tell if that was naughty or nice, but it sounds lovely when I try to sing it. Maybe we should do a whole thread with thank you's in different languages? I once posted one that said "Peace" in several languages. Anyone up for the challenge of posting a "Thank You" thread? |

I didn't sing what Karen said, but it sounded beautiful when I said it, as with what Bruce said. You see what you started Kacy? What a flow of such beautiful words! Wopila tanka, Kacy. Owl |

Wopila tanka ... wopila tanka ... what a wonderful sound these words have. Wow and that "tanka" sounds similar to "danke" in German. But the most enticing sound that your poem emits is the echo of your heart and soul. You dance through life in beautiful awareness and let us share in the dance. Grazie! Love, Margherita |
