Oh, what utter joy it is to find
on emergence from fitful rest
with the waking of the mind
a dead sparrow on my chest

To see a cat with grin so smug
with eyes that say on his behalf
"There you are! Let's have a hug"
for he does not see it as a gaffe

The bloody cat looks so dismayed
when wings in plastic I enshroud
I half feel I should eat it anyway
he looks so very pleased and proud

I cannot shout at him aloud
and besides he just
....meowed....

Nakedthoughts I did indeed mean "it"... I avoid spell checkers and the like, as I do the plague, the things seem to hate me.
