Andalusia

Its Andalusia starts my day
A place from which I cannot stray
Heaven and hell with space between
But not a crutch that I can lean

It picks me up in winds turmoil
And spices me with seasons toil
Stirs me with the dust of grime
To let me sip a taste of time

And with this sip I turn in vain
To feel the sense of love and pain
Of laugh and cry but mostly sigh
And then illusion that I die

I hear the echoes of the plum
The echoes beat a violent drum
And I am caught within the white
That holds the colors of the light

I fight and scream, wiggle and squirm
But Andalusia holds me firm
