I dreamed I dreamed a disturbing dream... In which I was surrounded By religious men, clutching holy books in one hand, while they clung steadfastly to their carnal conditioning with the white knuckled other. I heard doctrine, unfamiliar to both my ears and mind. With patience, I tried my best to welcome and embrace these oral strangers and offer understanding, but they were unable to find a door to my heart. Bound pages, gilded in gold were waved furiously overhead, With the shout of angry words and the call for violent actions. I wondered... at the absense of and ignorance concerning... "Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you." There seemed to be no regard given to the disregard of... "For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God" An ill wind blew upon the gilded pages and they opened before my eyes... I saw that these religious ones had used the skill of their hands in the highlighting of many passages. The words showing through the glow of fluorescent yellow that set them apart. I saw many more passages that their minds and hearts had highlighted in black permanent marker and they were unable to receive the teachings that lay hidden beneath. I dreamed I dreamed a disturbing dream. |

I saw many more passages that their minds and hearts had highlighted in black permanent marker and they were unable to receive the teachings that lay hidden beneath. ~*~ What telling passages...and how sad. But a very good, thoughtful, write. Thank you, Larry. |

No sort of golden books can compete with the perception of our hearts and many seem to have forgotten that love should be the key to whatever interpretation. Thank you for this thoughtful wise and good write! Love, Margherita |

Uriah, There is but one rule I follow and that is, do unto others as you would unto yourself. |
