One day the child grows old, And loves not his parents so, One night the wife looks at her husband, Staring across the party room, And stops loving him, One afternoon the call is made, And a young couple no longer shares, Each other’s company, One evening a stranger arrives At your door, giving you the news, That your son was a brave solider, One day, when all this is done, You look at see what you’ve survived, And wonder if all this was worth it all. I speak insanity. I write fantasy. I sleep reality. |
