Snaking their way into the city, the pilgrims wait to view death to guarantee everlasting life. What irony! Back up three paces and think.... a surrealistic scene April 2005, millions heading to St Peter’s Square to say goodbye to Pope John Paul, even as thousands of women fight their way each day to family planning clinics I shake my head at these lines of life and death coiled within the slither of a snake. |
