If you weep for the innocent
who have perished by the hand
of one named to protect
rise to your feet
please stand
and be counted.

if your eyes blink in wonder
at the sight of bodies small
being carried home to families
then say
I am appalled
and be counted.

if you know the right words
that will alleviate this plight
then take pen in hand
and for God’s sake
do write
and be counted.

if a child has been given you
to raise, then raise them right
teach them where the power is
for it is words we speak
and write,
and they will be counted.

absolutely. Recent events show the depths we as a society have sunk to. We need to each stand and be counted. One voice is a mere whisper, but imagine hundreds of voices standing together. That has always been our strength, standing together. It seems we have forgotten how to stand shoulder to shoulder. I am standing next to you Magnus.
