Shifting through the pages, that seem to go on for ages Memories, that I have written down, my face set in a pained frown Letters seem to blur as I go back to a world that is no longer in tacked The paper is yellow and crinkled with time, Tear stains and scribbled out passages and words underlined. I see myself sitting at my desk, under a tree or on my bed, writing of where my days journey had led. I revisit the ghosts that live on only in this book, seeing what time and age have took. Should I burn it and the ghosts that haunt inside, should I destroy the only thing I’d every confide? Seeing the bad, yet can’t help but see the good, knowing that in the end I never would. Smiles and days that were bittersweet, reminders of the laughter and blisters on my feet. Loves lost, and friendships gained, family struggles and smiling pictures framed. Closing the pages of a life I once knew, the pages left are fragile and few. |

I kept a diary once but then realized I don't need ghosts. |

I kept a diary for several years, spent half my waking hours trying to keep it away from my brothers and sisters! Funny, I have no idea what I did with it, except it must have hit the recycle bin by the time I was 25. LOL, kinda wish I had it now, just to see what I wrote when I was 12! I enjoyed this, and want to welcome you to the world of poetry online. |

I have always been told I should write a book of my life...Funny, I don't find it quite that fascinating... I would keep it, it is filled with many memories...priceless thoughts. |

Diaries...can be blessings in disguises. I know. I based a book on one, and then several of them. They can contain ghosts, as Passing Shadows subscribed, but they can also contain the etchings of history, and the matters that were, in order that we learn from our past. Diaries...are very special to me. As are Journals. So this...is a very special poem for me, and I thank you for that. |

Cool....the world has been blessed with people that keep diaries....and those that don't also...we just don't know as much about them! Loved passing shadow's comment.... jwesley |

OK, I am slightly jealous. That is amazing! It's going in my library. I think I might be scanning through the forums looking for new posts from you after that one. Well done and thank you for letting me read it! "The world won't end in darkness, it'll end in family fun |
