Succor For The Heavy Hours Vague, the gadarene spirit restlessly seeks a red scarf Pertinent to pride, yet there is no avenging angel Moments buzz along the sunlit sphere until quiet time Hostage in the limits of what can be seen or achieved Now Night, the guardian of dreams, sets down a hand Definitive and bold, his mastery of languid spaces Cross-legged in his audience, my fortitude lacks stars Apparent, the marrow of my pain reflecting in his eyes Silence glistens on my tongue, forming glass chips not words How so, the changing skirts of seasons meant to co-exist By burlap thread so roughens satin tiers of honest answers Trying to reform my innocent heart to be more red, or stop So be it then, a bridled emotion squeaks in its tracks Pulled back from bearing and led to the placid of compassion When the pleasure of love sees a direction uncharted Pure the intent, and sweet the passing hours spend themselves A heroic impulse might portend a loss, decrease a chance That I could sleep in outstretched meadows of my own doing Copyright Kkh 9/25/06 |
