I lied to a man once, and he left he shoulda, cuz I would have done the same, if he had lied to me. I had actually been told by family members that little white lies are ok, wait and see how the relationship goes, presently my past life, was none of his business...and so I listened...and when I finally told him, it crushed anything we ever had before, it was difficult to even forgive myself, for not only the deception, but the look in his eyes, that extreme hurt and disappointment...as if someone had just inflated his entire being...me. Lies, even little white lies, are most certainly unhealthy & deceitful.... there is no reason to lie, if someone leaves you b/c they find out the truth, then, believe they are or were not the right person for you... Love me for who I am now, not who I was, cuz people make mistakes, and they are capable of change... it is best to be above board, that way, nothing comes back to haunt you...yanno? Thank you Gentle Spirit, passing shadows and Lee J for all the wonderful insights... In relationships I believe that it is important not to give out false information about the way you feel or your intentions, because the other is making choices based on your thoughts...I tend to think differently about someone if I catch them in a lie or deceit...James |
