5721 Palestine By Name 24 September 2006 Fire to the light, as Israel’s lamp to shine. A radiated apartment, shelled to hardness endured. This Canaan of surrender, a division in world peace. Her heart in gathering, Rachel’s child in dawn. Fear not whose tears to cry, fear not those that die. Born again, water for breath, Fear neither nation, a warrior of heaven to rest. Israel, Almighty to kin, your light so shining again. This Israel, a Palestine by name. And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:” 1 Kings 8: 59 KJV © 2006 Christopher W Herbert (a New Zealand Poet) a poet who cares |
