It is hard to let her go, Because I am so comfortable, Too many nights, she didn’t stop by, Said, she was sleeping at her friend’s place, A lie I did not want to believe, But what I could do, she is my heart, Here comes another Friday, I get a call at my work, Saying she won’t make it tonight, Telling me she is hanging out with her friends, What can I do, but say yes, and wish her goodbye, I often wish, that I won’t find out, That she is in love with someone else, My pleasure is now his companion, My eyes tear up as I cry once more, Can’t let her know that she hurts me with her lies, For a minute or two, I choose to believe that I am crazy, That she loves me deeply and is faithful to me, But the clues tell another story, Even on our anniversary, she left me alone, Told me that she had to go, and will make it up somehow, Each time she tells me no, my heart has a new scar, No longer can I hide the truth from myself, I must face the reality now, I am dying inside, knowing that my love no longer has her. I speak insanity. I write fantasy. I sleep reality. |
