What We Are Not Why, no matter how hard we try, do we fail to please another. Sometimes its as simple as the difference between cats and dogs. They wanted a kitty kat and we came to them as a puppy dog, and from that point forward no matter what we do, we cannot be what we are not. JamesLee 15September 2006 Thoughts after reading some thoughts from Dr. Laura Schlessinger's book, "Bad Childhood Good Life". Elephants Don't Purr...p.95 Newsflash:No matter how hard you try to bang on a wall, it won't turn into a door... p.99 |

You're quite right, James--incongrous pairings just don't work, do they? Your poem makes the point very well indeed. Nice one. Cheers Bill |

Dear Michael, your contribution to the definition of "What we are and what we are not ..." is quite interesting. Love, Margherita |

I like this. We can only be our best by being ourselves and accepting others likewise. Sadly, not everyone feels that way. Rae |

Thank you The Lady, Dublin Boy, Margherita, aziza and sandgrain for the nice responses... Sometimes no matter how hard we try to please someone, we will not succeed. Because we are not dealing with an accepting kind of person, or we do not measure up to their ideals or preferences...James |
