Past winding road and river, mountains drape evergreen summer in ornamental arms. Grass carpets skirt Christmas, find Vega smiling for trees grown past ...falling. ~~~~~~~~~~~ (Vega: falling [vulture], star of the first magnitude in the constellation Lyra ) |

Lady, thank you for reading. Trees talk in the wind, and I was following the river's whisper when it struck me that the trees on this particular farm were now far too large to be used for Christmas. I smiled just thinking how beautiful they are alive and flourishing! I always hate throwing the tree out after the holidays. I like them growing, lush and green. (However, one poet pleases her daughter by taking their tree outside every year after the holidays. Since they live where it snows, she fills pine cones with peanut butter and bird seed. They decorate it for the birds and plant it in a snow bank.) |

Ah KL...digging up treasures is what we do best around here. When we lived in Michigan, we did the same with our "spent" Christmas tree, but putting it outside and making it useful...and it was usually up until March, at least. And I am sending this on to someone who I know will enjoy the poem, and its presentation! |

Morning Sunshine! Digging up poems can reveal buried treasure. One never knows what part of themselves they may find--Or the touch of another's thought. Thank you for touching and sharing mine. I will drive by there again today and think of you! ~ Klassy |

Ratleader, thank you, too. You left the gift of smile on my morning as well! This is a favorite time of year for me with the riotous colors and crisp air, but the evergreen has a certain joy all its own. ~ K |

...rhapsodies of a heart much grander than mine, those rivers and woods. May your day flow as gently. Thank you, Bill. |
