Mother of Memory – Mnemosyne

Alzheimers, your antithesis, some God should love us.

Even your daughters seemed to have forgotten
that you gave them your gifts, through
Zeus.  Oh, he loved you, night after nine.

Without you, who could have been recalled?
At all?

Without you.  Mother, Memory, Mnemosyne.
Mists love you, recollection is your forte.

Against standard, you stood, Philosophizer,
lover, mother, responsible for dialog.  You,
alone, gave reason to chronology.

Life, Being, Self, Time, Space, Occurrence,
Repetition…

Beliefs.

You manifested yourself into Thought.

Unbeknown, you allowed Thought into Philosophy
and did not stop there.

Mother of Memory, you allowed
Spiritualism.

Possibly even the “can do” canto.

Your daughters are proud, and wear
your veils well.
Without you
no man could have been born
to spout
Intelligence.

Good Gwad, this was heartbreakingly beautiful...

Even your daughters seemed to have forgotten
that you gave them your gifts, through
Zeus.  Oh, he loved you, night after nine.

to me, and for me, this is my favorite of yours...each and every line, compliments the next...

one while reading, can sense, the great pain and investment, you've had in this...

Oh my!!..
Karilea I am at a loss for words..
This is breathtaking!
Your best by far!

In the midst of winter,
I found there lives within me..
An invincible summer.

... and to think my muse simply lives and writes without the aid of gods or godesses ...
however, my muse does have a wonderful memory
. . . and NEVER was a river in Hades named after my muse . . .

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Dear Sissie

"Without you, who could have been recalled?
At all?"

You have traveled a long way to bring forth these words.
