Writing Notes On Starlight Beach

Forever, comes and goes
As if the surf reads my mind
As if it knows, answers I hope to find

Driftwood quill picked off the waves
Pulled tighter wraps, the night concaves
In the rumple of my skirt

Ice floats out, beyond my touch
The eerie doubt in darkened clutch
Shimmered in gems, the stars watch

At first, free form and fleeting scroll
Cathartic script, aegis light to kindled coal
Turns fortune mimicking the shape of affinity

For there became your name in lights
What paused beneath my blouse still beating
So I wrote my love there in the sand

Ahhh...but to dream of that which falls from
the lips of a rose...and smell the fragrant
bouquet...after the waters return me from
the rip current........

Having grown up what some might call "near beachside" the imagery of this was not hard at all for me to bring forward...

and I even heard the gulls, and felt the kiss of sea-grown fog....

even felt the kelp around my ankles.

well done, m'friend.
