I felt your death last night. I felt your fear. I was riding with you; though I was asleep right here. I was dreaming, one of those light connected dreams the ones with no distortions where I'm not sure if I'm asleep, but where all is what it seems. You were driving a car too fast for you, your new him was passed out next to you; you always loved the feel of speed licking lights along your spine and you had driven on that road before, but last night you crossed the line too tight; that's when I couldn't shake the dream. I had to ride it through your scream as I felt your world begin to spin. The tide of your awareness ripped up broken from within my soul and I felt everything but pain; then I held you as we floated from the wreckage on the road, no words could pass between us just the sadness in your soul, the regret, the disappointment, the understanding of mistake, then you melted in my arms as I felt the clear light take you from me, and I screamed myself awake. ©2006 by icebox [This message has been edited by icebox (12-25-2006 07:05 AM).] |

icebox - I do sincerely hope that you are only recounting a dream. I've had one almost exactly the same and can understand the scream and the feel only too well. It lives with one until the knowing not to relate it to friends or family. May you know peace now and in the forthcoming year! Best wishes Helen |

Oh, knowing you as I do, I would not count you out for one second. Right now I'm just glad I don't drive. (I'm downright phobic about it--and I have had this nightmare a few times m'self.) You are a man of many gifts, Charly. And speaking of gifts--look what I found in my inbox today: "Symbol of the Day: Kokopelli from Jennifer Emick Kokopelli is an ancient character- a hunchbacked, dancing fluteplayer depicted on prehistoric American rock carvings. The origins of the figure are a mystery, and he figures in many Native American stories, where his age and role vary. He is generally believed to have been a fertility symbol, often depicted as a phallic character, carrying a pouch of seeds, or wearing antlers. Kokopelli symbols often appear in the context of rain, pregnancy, prosperity, and marriage. Kokopelli is a Hopi word meaning (roughly) wooden-backed; most of the familiar depictions of Kokopelli are copied from Hopi art, which in turn is derived from ancient Anasazi glyphs." Oh I do believe, Charly. ![]() Thanks you for all that you do for me. |

Icebox, three days ago a woman who had come to work here died just as you have written. She had a drug problem and althought we all liked her they had to let her go. After three really bad mishaps the company had no choice. She was driving to NY, or the Orlando Airport to board a plane to NY and hit a tree. You described her death just as I pictured it and heard it in my mind. Her family will have a horrible Holiday. You can really put life into words. It describes my daughter's accident but she thankfully is still with me. A miracle. martyjo |

This one made me shiver, you truly know how to tell a story. The flow is good, and the scene powerful. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
