Rowing in Eden -
Ah, the Sea!
Might I but moor - Tonight -
In Thee!
   ~Emily Dickinson

smoke fog on the quay
waves singing tales in dark
hot coffee
held in chilly fingers
I lean against the sweet idea of you
dreaming future arms

take me in your heart
let memories slip onto my cheek
tell me the story of
who we once were
before the veil fell
and I saw you no more

tell me how it felt
then
sound of fog horn
buoy bells clanging
sweetly discordant
wind of soul flying
knowing me
before I knew myself

tell me how you found me
waiting
over salt years
then moor me
keep me here
always

do not let the waves take me away
again
