Dark side of the Moon.

              "Sunshine's Sonnet"

His Sunshine, she so brightly lit his day.
Made possible Moonshadow oh so deep.
Yet, now she must remain so far away.
His muse is held in darkness and asleep.

The two echanged their hearts and swore to keep
not knowing that the world would not allow.
They burned the flame of love with bounds and leaps.
They spoke of lasting love with every vow.

The world closed in around them like a shroud
and shut the love light out, no more to glow.
The tears fell down like rain from darkened clouds.
Enough to fill the ocean's overflow.

For worlds they once again returned their hearts.
The two will be forever worlds apart.

I enjoyed reading this but felt a tinge of pain... Separation is so difficult!  Well written.

Tru, RDB, Interloper... Thank you for the read and comments. You are most kind.

Miscellanea.. your empathetic perception is affirmed... pain, ever present.. though at times masked somewhat.. the dull ache will never subside... there is no possible cure.

Y'know, I've read this one, oh heck,
when it was written, and again, then
again, and was drawn to certain thoughts
and lovely memories...

for if my father hadn't been Gemini
and I hadn't been Sagittarius,
then perhaps I wouldn't have been
his own Sunshine.

It's not quite what all of your poem
depicted, but the certain aspects I
pulled out for my own.

Thank you for this, Poet.
