Laying of Words

Today, I'm pacing thoughts of then,
the laying of words in need of again.
A catch phrase here, between the lines there,
each aiding the vision of thoughts in the share.

To new friends and old, a year almost done,
emotions of sadness, of gladness and fun...
A wish that the season's greeting I send
brings promise and hope as these days come to end.

To know that the meanings that rest here in words
can support and draw strength, even though silent heard.
As this evening descends into spirits' recall,
Merry Christmas to each of you, poets and all.

M
