A Candles walk Ablaze this candle of my write Surrounded by this gloom of night Lighting like a star on high For every candle is a sigh My candle flickers on the wall Making patterns of enthrall Setting wings a mind to fly Turning me a butterfly And there I sail within the hues The golden amber of the blues Lifting me in minds of rise Gifting me with dreams surmise But fire eats the tallow’s flow Dissolves its life to make it glow And as the candle dims each send A puff of smoke leaves each end We light them just to light our day To warm our love along the way To make a field of preen for thee To sail infinities green sea And if I could a better goal I’d even light my very soul |
