My Shadow My shadow paces me the day In pantomime along my way Back and front in short or long It shows from dull to very strong It has no substance just a view A pantomime of what I do But mentally it stirs my thought To stretch into a strange contort It gives me length to touch some dire Like leaping flames of burning fire To stroke a bird or butterfly To place my hand upon her thigh I make it do what I won’t dare And non the wiser or aware And never have they put me down Nor do I get the slightest frown I’ll bet you never felt that kiss I lay upon your breast and lips |

Morning Sir Sy! Well this certainly is a loverly one to awaken to this morn. Reminds me of that old song, "Me and My Shadow" ..remember that one? This kick started my day for me... Have a good one! & ~Nancy Now - while the leaves still dance on the wind |

Sounds very bleak, almost like a longing to have that other that is constantly there but never being able to touch them. It also harkens to how (maybe I am being melodramatic) some people can be close to you but you can never truly "touch them". So they have never felt your love or caress, though they are by your side constantly. |
