He squashed a bug with His big toe because it had no place to go-- the power of it made Him laugh: "That..is that." And aftermath attracted ants, who didn't know that God was watching them. |

grin--I kinda knew this one wouldn't fly at christmas time. I'm not a reindeer though--I just look like one when caught in headlights! No offense intended folks--just a different perspective here. |

On reading your comment, I kinda love your self-effacing honesty and humour. It's very charming! ~ and watch out for God's Toe, it's a BIG one! lol Blessings to you, Serene One! Linda |

From your write I can't tell if He squashed a bug with His big toe or just someone squashed a bug with his big toe .... so, what's the point of contention? I like the way you cause us to think and I have always liked the way you write Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write. |

Well Serene One, You may not fly at Christmas but you certainly swim upstream! But ohterwise how could you... uh, oh never mind. And just for the record God's big enough to take care of himself. And your bad mood may scare me but it doesn't scare him. But either way we both still love you. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, |

Ah..it wasn't all just bad mood, I had also been contemplating an exchange in one of my favorite movies, The Mothman Prophecies. It's one of my favorite analogies on the futility of trying to define the nature of God, and I quote it alot, so if you have heard me quote it before, well, you're going to read me quoting it again: "John Klein: I think we can assume that these entities are more advanced than us. Why don't they just come right out and tell us what's on their minds? Alexander Leek: You're more advanced than a cockroach, have you ever tried explaining yourself to one of them?" so you see, the poem was not intended to insult anyone's perception of God--it was just a further exploration of the statement made by the character of Alexander Leek, which was prompted, I confess, by Huan Yi's recent queries in Philosophy on the nature of God. I do regret the timing of the post though. I didn't deliberately intend to disrespect anyone's observance of thier Holiday. Peace to all. Happy Solstice and yes, Merry Christmas! Thank you for reading. |
