To leave you now would be to me
Like tearing off my arms
And I haven't the will to set myself free
Of your all too treacherous charms.

I've given up my life to be
The part of you unknown
But even when you hold me close
I feel so all alone.

What isn't yours to give
And I can never hope to be
The reason why you live.

I've got to break this habit
Someday, someway, somehow
I've got to get myself back
The time to start is now.

I've got to say goodbye to you
Though it may break my heart
I've got to make my life anew
And make a brand new start.

And if in the process of finding myself

Then that's your chance to find yourself

I'll be addiction free!

Interloper, Thank you for your comment.

I agree with you that any addiction is bad, however, I believe there are detox programs for the vast majority of addictions out there, however, I know of no detox programs for obsessive love or a love gone bad.

Sure there is always theraphy or co-dependency groups, but nothing to actually flush the toxic residue that's left behind after a love gone wrong.

I guess there's the option of a lobotomy, then you can become a happy little vegetable for the rest of your life.

Some choice!
