Lately your eyes betray you They no longer linger like they did When they look at me I see distrust When they look at me I see distaste Lately your smile betrays you It no longer has a meaning behind it When you smile at me I see an emptiness When you smile at me I see a loss Lately…. I feel the same way too |

It makes one wonder how such bright beginings, can and often do turn into dismal endings. Love makes the world go round and the opposite can cause it to stop. Don't let it get you down, cause eventually the carousel will turn again. Wonderfully and evocatively penned. |

Oh, yes, I can so well relate to this. I have been told in a case like this that it is only my perception and not necessarily true but I surely have learnt the hard way not to doubt my perceptions - eyes open or closed! |
