Time, sitting and waiting, At sun rise or fall, or between the two, Nothing anticipating Acceptance of nothing to do; But wait. And the wait Becomes the doing. Flowers have bloomed, Roses have blossomed for weeks now, Endlessly one after another Gently perfuming. And I wait Tea grows cold for lack of drinking Lost in a sunrise at noon Still sitting and thinking. And I wait I come off the porch To get a bite to eat And wait for and orange sunset to greet. Soon it will be bedtime And my thoughts will become dreams, It might be of a green eyed girl Walking hand in hand Over hills And following small streams Or of the children I have known Now all adults Now all grown What will my dreams be? I wait |

time is a funny thing, yet time is the only thing that can tell what happens, who dreams what, and who ends up where in life Swinging the Dead in this Free Fall you call life, Swinging the Dead on a Deathride |

Both time and solitude are certainly the most powerful means to make one introspective. You convey this sentiment exceedingly well in this poem. |

Welcome to Piptalk, WW. You have such a gentle way with words and imagery. Easy to visualize and sense... Tea grows cold for lack of drinking Lost in a sunrise at noon Still sitting and thinking. I don't get here very often, but when I do, I'll try to remember to read your writing. You have such a comfortable style. misc |

A cup of tea in hand reminded me of your poem; thought I'd return to place this in my library. Seems like we're always waiting for something! Meanwhile, my tea cools. Enjoy the day. |
