I sat in sunlight, melting
from snow thoughts
that powdered me into
a blues tune, mixed
with an ice-cold salsa
It was an intoxication
similar to the bite of your eyes

You thought my spin was slight
I’m no dizzy woman new to love
I just really like celebrating
that old feeling
when I knew you

before your ingredients
tried to wear me
like an old coat
with a new scent
that wasn’t mine

and it won’t be
this time
either

Reg,
With growth is change anad things rarely remain the same. But then you just said that so much better. It's lovely.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Rwoods nothing to critique here~ I enjoyed the creativity here. You have done a excellent job on this poem

I sat in sunlight, melting
from snow thoughts
that powdered me into
a blues tune, mixed <------
with an ice-cold salsa <------
It was an intoxication
similar to the bite of your eyes
