I cannot sway you,
to hold me
for longer than a minute

past greetings and goodbyes

not even if I catch a thread
and become attached
to your cottons.

You
are so beautiful
in those clothes,

hair stays
and your smile moves

Style
is rare

true unabashed flair
of human skin

and I knew
I could wear you
so well.

And you never knew
I gave up,

re-applied a layer to my lips
and hoped
they never announce my departure
to you

So you need not feign interest
or wonder
what I was even saying;

Over the jazz,

Along our street,

In my heart.

You are delicious.

smile--you should check YOUR cottons, I caught this thread, and um, it's hard to find my way out.

You have been much missed sweet poet.

Thankyou each for your warming replies. It is so nice to have lovely comments from familiar faces, and the few unfamiliar too.

I thought it was about time i popped in!
