I took a tip of sponge tonight
and dipped it in metallic blue
underlining underlids
as I thought of you.

I took the beige paint
in the tube
and gravely dabbed it
just beneath
to hide the circles underneath
that somehow tears
had hollowed hues
of the echoes of the cruel
nights and days I yearned for you

weeping all that couldn't be

swearing

"never" wasn't true

because I felt your pull of me

I told myself that skies are blue
omens of a happy day--
I dried my eyes to pray for grace

I laced my lashes glittering
mimicking the fringe of drapes
that hid my secret flowering
a fan dance of my eyes' despair -

a blooming of the fleur de lis
purple irises in spring

rising from debris to sing
songs of glory royalty
once upon a time
they'd bring
smiles
to faces of the kings
an 'orchid' of such rarity
they chose the color for their rings
and draped their chambers
yellow, green
sympathetic, magically
and wore the scent of this aloe--

found within my eyes
when I
would be so bold of vanity
or brash to flash them angrily

if I felt the need to sting
cornered by a bartering
scared to ruthless slaughtering
of another human's need--
a sharp and bitter slivering
of pieces of myself.

I grieve and need to bleed myself
of poisons that I breed in loathe--
and no robes I can adorn
will ever hide the shame of me.

I bit my lip defiantly
and I chose corals
like the pinks
of the conch deprived of sea
knowing how it felt to be
left upon the glimmering
crystalline of shining beach

swept by tides so spotlessly

alone again

unmercifully

emptied now

of everything

but the urge to sing...

Hey Witch, this--

"I took a tip of sponge tonight
and dipped it in metallic blue
underlining underlids
as I thought of you.

I took the beige paint
in the tube
and gravely dabbed it..."

–and this--

"I bit my lip defiantly
and I chose corals
like the pinks
of the conch deprived of sea
knowing how it felt to be
left upon the glimmering
crystalline of shining beach..."

–but especially this–

"found within my eyes
when I
would be so bold of vanity
or brash to flash them angrily

if I felt the need to sting
cornered by a bartering
scared to ruthless slaughtering
of another human's need--
a sharp and bitter slivering
of pieces of myself."

–is extraordinary writing!  Just thought I would tell you that.

Yeah, face paint is a (expletive deleted) isn't it???  All dressed up and no one to ....

The last time I painted my face with woad and grabbed a broad axe off the wall to go three sheets to the wind looking for Englishmen, I couldn't find any, not for love nor money!

Hey? Have you ever thought of taking your poetry seriously?  You should ya know; you write some serious poetry!

*grin*

Serene B,
May I say, "I got it!" And I loved it. So very well done. Whew... finally.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Oh, Karen, what can I say?  This piece is as outstanding as you are.  I'd love a book of your poetry and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Then, go ahead and sing Karen my Karen.
Something bluesy, gutsy and sprinkled with meloncholy. I wanna sway and sip some Southern Comfort on the rocks. luv this one.

and through the looking glass
I did see
WE
in vibrant colors
of life's intensity

a masterfully painted

framed in love

I can type a blue streak speech on a whole lot of useless information, but honestly, when you guys are all so kind to me, I am touched beyond words.

In other words, grinning, ya'll know how to shut me up.

So I'll just say "thank you" and *touch the screen*

Oh. Plasma. *wince*

Love to all.

(and I'm still grinning at Larry's apparent relief too. Happy Birthday lovie. *special kiss*)

I have to tell you lady this one I printed and will keep.  I loved it!  Especially felt the despair you worked into these lines:

I laced my lashes glittering
mimicking the fringe of drapes
that hid my secret flowering
a fan dance of my eyes' despair -

Incidentally did all this come from Vitamen K?

actually Shar, it came from a lack thereof...

and wheat? (who knew?)

and apparently yogurt (strenuous antibiotic treatment will do that too, but wince, let's not get too detailed on that'n, k?)

Smile...circles--the "eyes" have it.

Thank you all for reading, and yeah, it's possible to be fat and suffer from malnutrition. Only in America, eh?

Sheesh.

Thanks again to you all for your love and generosity.

Wow... wish I could purge myself like you did here.  But then, I feel half way there just reading this.

Gonna print it and read it a few times over.
