I’ve held you in my arms before – So close were you to me, Then kissed the lips I longed for, And touched the soul of thee, At night I’ve loved you often, When our passions overcame, The souls who longed to hurt us, Those who wouldn’t play the game, But in us we felt the longing, The one whose love was true, Who wanted to feel the joys in life, Like the joys I found in you, I’ll tremble when I touch you, Cry when our souls unite, Then soar among the angels, When I feel your soul's delight, And when that day arrives, When as one we’ll surely be, I will have known no greater joy, For I touched the soul of thee. Poetry is just the evidence of life. |
