You rang my chimes that eve as the seashore called
Passionately …  while stars cast tiny shadows on
My eyes and roses looked so good between your
Teeth.

If our bells were chimed, polished and gently swung,
Why were they stilled by the ache of a door,  a
Single rustic wooden door….as the latch clicked
In a thundering clap and your heels faded softly into the night air.

You wrung my heart,  teased my soul,  dangled my
Whispers of “now” before my lips….stole the sky,
Shook the moon and shivered the timbers of Davey
Jones’  last forgotten Brig…

If all of this fell from love’s skies,  could it cover
The field’s of heartache that now grow,  riding
Against the winds of torment and the heaviness
Of guilt….as your heels again could faintly be
Heard,  fading into the dead of night….as I
Cried,   letting tears fall into the well of desire,
Awaiting one last wish from me…

Barry,
"letting tears fall into the well of desire,
Awaiting one last wish from me…"

I really like that line. And I like your style.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
