"The Legacy" There lies one whose name is written on water, And here is a life written in sand. Blessed be he who dwells in laughter, While slumbering silently 'neith the land. Better for us, the one who winters long, A face with etched lines, that bind, An epitaph for the loved but gone, ...so still in spring, not left behind. There sits one counting the hours to save, A legacy of bided time, Aimlessly passing toward a would be grave, Yet, the wrong in this way finds no crime. And is it any better for me, a miser of dreams? If dreamers die young, are they ever forgotten, So long as they die before the dream? .........I see the Flies............. |

nicely done. This poem was sad; especially made me think of a few people who have died before they should have. Poetry is just the evidence of life. |

Thanks for the comment, yes it can be sad in a way to consider the fragility of life when compared to the shear brilliance of a dream. |
