Seated at the table
Surrounded by those I love
I remember other Christmases
Giving thanks to the Lord above
Grandparents, parents, children
Generations melding with ease
Captured in timeless photos
Memories are made of these

We sat at the festive table
Bathed in candlelight
Remembering the Christ Child
Born this Holy night
I remember Grandma raising her glass
While shedding a wayward tear
Saying "Here's hoping we'll be together
Raising a glass again next year"

Now, many years have flown
There are new babies to be kissed
But also empty places
At the table that are missed
As we gather with our loved ones
All those we love so dear
Here's hoping that with God's help
"We'll be together again next year"

This one made me smile and sniff at the same time.  Well done.

Thanks Romiece...Christmas is a time for families to gather round and appreciate each other.  We never know when it could be our last...and the memories we will leave behind.

Merry Christmas to you and yours.

As well it should...it is the natural order of things...just as God intended.  "A time to live...a time to die etc."

Being remembered with love is what is important...a goal we should all strive for.

Happy Holidays.
