Words seem only meant to hurt...
Seem only meant for pain...
Seem only meant to kill the love,
That I thought somehow I'd gain.
And I thought my words would win you,
But my words - whilst purest truth...
Seemed lost amongst your memories,
Along with dreams lost in my youth.
I thought words were meant for beauty,
To describe the world I knew,
To explain... the love I felt,
To explain... my love for you.
For the pain your words imparted,
And the pain they could exert,
Proved I always knew the truth,
That words could only hurt.

When you lift and hold someone in high esteem and love, their words falling down upon you from such a height can hurt and kill.

Well placed words can comfort and encourage... or can crush and destroy a heart in the blink of an eye.

So very true. I think in times we forget how powerful our words can impact the lives of other in a negative or postitve way. The expression "think before you speak," should really be implemented more

The relate of relationships...is the most important part...and the words should always come from a place of love, even in their sharpest truth.
