You were daddy’s little girl once, Who loved her father so, But then you heard a call, And ‘twas time for you to go. I made mistakes too oft...I know, And regrets along the way, But I loved my little girl, And longed for her to stay. Oh I never meant to hurt you, With the words I sometimes said, And I longed to show I cared, But the tears were left unshed. For I was hurting when you left us, And began the drugs and such, But I never meant to anger you, For I love you very much. There are times I sit and wonder, How your life will sometimes be, Will you survive the many pains, And see the life... you long to see? I hope you get to see that day, With its life of many charms, Maybe that day is oh so close, When your daughter's in your arms. So remember I’ll always love you, And ne’er once did I love you - not, And I know you loved me too, Even though... we both forgot. Poetry is just the evidence of life. |

A beautifully heart wrenching write. I hope if it is true then those fences can be mended. 'Tis the season for special blessings. Take care and Have fun. Steve |
