In the Depths They’re not secrets unless you keep them safe and cold, tethered in dark places. Cut the knots and set them free, think on them, and one might swim past your lips into the world. See them now: cords that hold sails furled against a phantom storm. Sun-tipped waves break on their hidden rocks. They drag like anchors- bought for blood, by the ounce. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
