Closing our eyes i held your hand tight as we fell, into the abyss. Storms unfortold to us, a current swept me away. I was cast into darkness, with no memories. Blinded by a light, and in a strange place, is where i was claimed. The years swiftly travelled by as i freely walked this land, upon the chosen path, names and faces came and went, i tasted both high's and low's, and although at times i felt lost i also felt i belonged. With faith and love in my heart, i never gave up hope, for some strange notion filled the air, and a sense of imminence was on the horizon. Heart racing ,stomach churning, a nervous excitement engulfed me. What is this feeling? i wondered, as clarity re-enligned my vision, there you were, stood before me, my heart,my body,my soul emerged as one, as you took my hand i opened my eyes to yours. In heaven and upon earth together. xxx |

Bernadette...what words could do this beautiful and excellently written poem justice?..It is a fine tribute to our love,and for my small input within it,but it is more than anything else a tribute to your skill as a poet and the beauty that you find within and cast onto the page with consumate ease, as a fly fisherman may cast the line...it is something to hold onto during doughtful doleful days..something to kindle the fire and keep the flame alive..thank you darling..
