The soul bares the burden of pain
                 tinkling strained echoes of refrain
As tears flow from emerald eyes
                 seeking visions in the skies
Light grows dim as weariness reigns
                 somehow, I'd seek home again.
In silence, heard, a broken heart sighs
and becomes echoes from on high.

This sorrow cloaks me, solitudes veil
for anguish is but a shade of pale,
Slowly stars fade into dawn’s hues
and here are tucked, thoughts of you.
I cry out, "God, for a moment, let peace prevail”
                 A broken whisper so assails
The sunlight’s sparkle on morning’s dew
and here are thoughts, tucked, of you.

I whisper your name, but can you hear
might an echo be naught but clear?
A voice calling gently on the wind
perchance, might love be found again?
Only blue heavens can see these tears
only Your eyes might see the fear,
Of this broken heart in weep again....
awaiting for a cleansing of all sins.

Thank you for the repost on that poem! I would have missed such a beautiful poem as this.

I cry out, "God, for a moment, let peace prevail”
                 A broken whisper so assails

Oh, so nice to read you two again. This makes me sad, yet it is how I feel. My Mom passed away yesterday. Poetry can be healing, I am trying. Thanks

Sandra, if this poem brings you any peace
whatsoever, than Donna knew exactly what
she was doing at this time, and in this place,
and for that spare space in your heart...
which will heal, in time, but only if
stuffed with love.

Our prayers are with you, Sandra.

Donna?  thank you, dear, for bringing this
back to the light.
