On a road, side-and-sided by fields made silver-blackened blue,
Surpassing in suppression, holding hours, holding her.
Where the red light matched an ember-cherry of a cigarette,
And the cares for one beside and all around were unequal.
As the sky had taken back its gift of ‘lumination,
Two eyes had no choice, but to stare upon the cold azure,
And look up to the blank sapphire, glittered by the half blank moon.
There, ‘hind trees turned coal, made evident and splintered,
Was a golden cloud shimmering brightly, orange at its heart,
Then turned to plum on the outer edge. The finger pointed lightly too
For a single love of whishing fools were gasping: All along
We never knew, the beautiful, entrancing jewel, the golden light
That comes so true, surrounded so by holy blue, to shine its life
Upon us two, and give our love its golden hue.

I dug this poem. Some of your poetry that I have read I didn't understand. More than likely lack of education on my part. However I liked how you compared love to natures reflection and painted a clear portrait in my mind. Thanks for sharing this poem. Love can be beautiful

Thanks for finding this poem; love is in fact a beautiful thing. also, about my other poetry, im sorry if the messages or words are too abstract, i try to write with the most expressive words possible; in turn i sacrafice readers first glance understanding.

There has been a few [poems] where I had to take my time and rewind it, but dont apologize for my ignorance; every poet has their own style of poetry, and every poet appreciated in their own ways.

Matt,

This is total "Matthew", thru and thru. Absolutely gorgeous! Vivid and lingering. You out-did yourself on this one, my friend. More so, I needed to read something that is restive and inspiring this day.

I just love your stuff! The new pic is equally awesome!

Sandra
