I’m just a girl
With lust in her eyes
You’re just a boy
With a head full of lies

We look
We touch
We feel
We see

We both know
It’s never going to be
But living on the edge
Is better than the loneliness
That envelopes me

I guess we're nothing without our dreams but living on the edge teaches us to ... "balance"!

thank you Honeybunch .... I agree, it's all in the balance... if men could leave their egos at the door then balance would reign I think!

Be well

Excellent ‘write’!......... this is another fine example of what I call slice of “every-person’s” life dejavu.

Although to “if men could leave their egos at the door”, I must respond
that I have never entered any potential relationship with said ‘ego’, nor ‘a head full of lies"..
but, in my  past at least, it has never made any difference..it has been my experience that the clichés (as much as I detest them)
are ‘oft true….’nice guys’ do finish last in life and love.  I believe many (most?) women are at least subconsciously ‘deeply attracted’ to the ‘bad boys’ (who so often are ‘self-involved’ and sometimes down right cruel and/or evil).

"You’re just a boy
With a head full of lies"

Perhaps they were simply truths that had not yet flowered?

I enjoyed your thoughts Roniece.
And also agree with icebox's comments.
Sometimes men/boys don't give their good thoughts enough time to blossom and throw caution to the wind. Patience truly is a virtue.

oooh perhaps I've been a bit 'harsh' on "boy's" and their 'egos' comments!!  Didn't meean to offend... but hey, at least I got some of the good looking ones to respond!

Thanks again for your comments, enjoy reading them.

Be well
Roniece

Dearest RDB...   Some of 'Us' have a softer side that keeps the Ego in check... but many of 'us' prefer the safe sanctity of the shadow... It is up to you, lovely women who deserve and expect more, to gently pull 'us' into the sunshine occasionally... and sip a taste of fine soulful wine.

I enjoy your works that provoke much thought and feelings... Write on Milady, Write on.
