You Came To Me In Dreams... |

You came to me in dreams, I knew you well - Oh, but Lord! How so unprepared was I When our eyes first met! For no dream a spell Could cast, that was cast from your living eye. As two flints struck hard in the night of chance, A bridge of sparks ignited our two hearts. How fateful was that solitary glance! How predetermined were the heavens' charts! So uncertain was I before that night; What path did my mind so ponder about? Then you before me in a flash of light Appeared and removed all lingering doubt. In that one moment I knew for certain In your arms forever I wished to keep - As your eyelids lifted, so did the curtain Had shrouded my heart in a loveless sleep. In you, my love, the shard missing from my Whole I found, and now I am filled with naught But love that seeks your touch; a quiet sigh Close next to me, and you the only thought. A single tear of joy with you a pool Of sorrow back into delight would turn - And the smile on your lips the endless fuel That warms my soul and feeds my heart to burn. But your eyes, my love, forever glowing - Within is life, pure love, to soul a portal; From those eyes your love to mine is flowing - Betwixt the twain our souls are bound immortal. CG (P.S. Wow, dear CG, this is absolutely wonderful! While reading it I found all those emotions I know and thought that your poem was totally after my heart ... I love it. I am really happy that you also felt inspired by my poem to put this beauty together. I will keep it in my library. Love, Margherita |

Margherita, Thank you so much for your kind words - I am so glad you liked the poem. Your poem stirred my own emotions and provided the ‘catalyst’ for me to write this one. For that I also thank you. CG |

I like your style or writing; it almost reflects my own. Kudos! Great flow. Poetry is just the evidence of life. |
