It Simply Just Happens That Way I suppose you've given up again, could I bring myself to cry if not for you, or for the end just for the not knowing why? It's nothing you did or didn't do, it's nothing I pushed away, not something I lost without a clue, it simply just happens that way. What we had was hard to find but now there's no going back, stepping stones should be left behind, they only hinder the present track. I could make the feelings come and bring myself to cry for reality that I am numb and have no reason why. Every rainbow comes from gray and bruises eventually go away, each dawn begins another day it simply just happens that way. March 19, 2001 A poem begins with a lump in the throat. ~Robert Frost |

This is another most fine example (similar to several other fine poems I've read on 'P.I.P.' today!)....of what I call: 'every-person' dejavu.... segments of this 'write' allow it to waft along that 'immortal plane'!...such as: "I suppose you've given up again, could I bring myself to cry if not for you, or for the end just for the not knowing why?" an emotional 'slice' of most (all?!) of our lives! |

"...and bruises eventually go away," and a few always seem to last forever. Understanding pain breaks the claws of its tyranny. Thank you for sharing this. ![]() |

Very nice. This poem reminded me of a past relationship; when we departed I was left numb with no emotion. Poetry is just the evidence of life. |
