I think about tomorrow
and the yesterdays' come through,
allowing me the comfort in
the soft of view or two.

When perspective was a carefree song
and loving saw no end.
I think about it often
when lost feelings rise again.

I watch him when he walks by
and I wonder what he thinks.
Mistakes were made twice over
and the rosy paled to pinks.

So faded are the memories
and feelings once so strong,
I wonder what he thinks about
since separated long.

Does darkness leave him lonely
as I often have that feel?
Do holidays and remembrances
fulfill the need to heal?

I look at portraits like a child
still wondering what went wrong.
But it's too late, there is no more.
Those words, now thoughts in song.

It's been awhile since hearing them,
those three, that warm a heart.
The meaning of has hidden truths
that sets the world apart.

Tomorrow I will think again
knowing all the world's a stage
believing in the call of love
despite advancing age.

Tonight I'll think of yesterday
and comfort in mind's view
remembering the once upon,
a picture's worth or two.

M

Well done, Maureen.
Sentiments penned to perfection.

Poet, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

Thank you Keth, nice to see you here.

MsSouthernOrchid, that's the fun of poetry, being able to relate to what you read.

Thank you Pressie for stopping to read...and welcome.

Thanks JamesM ..holidays can be lonely so you have to think about some of the past joys in life.

Interloper, always nice to know you are here I..wish I had the energy to even read more but the Winter(darkness) is not my favorite time of the year unless it's  snowing and the world looks so bright. It's early to bed and early to rise...for now.

LeeJ, so good to see you back..missed you. I was just having a "holiday moment"  remembering how it once was and wondering if I was the only one feeling this way.

Thank you for your lovely words. Mostly, I am too tired to write..not that I don't have the thoughts..just my brain and fingers don't feel like cooperating for now. It's those 26 six year olds...just imagine having the brightest children in the school as your class.
Speaking of which..they each have poetry journals...

If there is ever another book done this has to be in it!  I loved the feeling in this Maureen, and you couldn't have said this better...

If you want it - it will come, and until then a picture speaks more than a thousand words, it speaks love.

Yes, do believe in the call of love! The impermanence of life has still much in store as you proceed on your own Path ...

Beautiful and touching write!

Love and hugs.
