Listening to every heart

Thanks in Giving Memories

Given the time of day,
bowed is this head in thanks, being
granted this sacred day of month,
cherishing a month in this year

for memories have been replete ~
as no space or time, nor loss of hand
has kept me from you, or
you from me.

No calories need be partaken,
yet here I am, in loose clothes
stuffed full of memoried hugs and love,
songs and laughter
decidedly basting in a mental state
of  being somewhere else in thyme.

There is no helping
of those silent hands that weave in those
sage words, toward, around, and through this
heart and mind, leaving the oysters alone to bleed pearls,
though some skipped beats of bleeding muscle
feel like bread being torn for stuffing
upon hearing silent words in the wind
and in turning toward them,
finding only a tear furrowing this cheek
in silent stream
toward my lips in seal of salty kiss
then passing on to moisten the soup.

For all of the ache in missing you, my darlings,
I will indeed engage in
a second helping of laughter
on the wind

and watch these loose clothes
flutter upon the sound.

Ah...yes, this day, a day of reflection, memories....those precious memories.

Well done Karilea!
