Don't know the feeling of Thanksgiving There's no Thanksgiving where I am living I can imagine though what it should be Thus read the fantasy of Dutchie me I'll heat up the stove on Thanksgiving day When you feel lonely, just come my way Come by plane, train, boat or car Just come my way, it isn't that far I'll have my family gathered around But room for more will always be found When you come in, I'll hug you tight And you can stay all through the night We'll have dinner, a sheep no doubt I don't have turkeys hopping about I know, I know, it should be that bird But it's the thought that counts, I've heard We'll tell stories while sipping wine And I'll make sure you're feeling fine Then we'll stumble up the stairs Laughing out loud, but hell, who cares And when you're ready to leave next morn (Don't count on feeling completely 'reborn') We'll say 'Goodbye' and 'Till next year' And I will shed some tears I fear That's my fantasy about Thanksgiving There's no Thanksgiving where I am living But...in my mind I could pretend That my fantasy comes true my friend Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |

OhSweetGirlieGirl~ I WISH YOU WERE HERE !!! It is a wonderful time of family gathering, delicious food preparation, hugs, love, and blessings counted~ We had the part of the family over here for - Deviled Eggs, Olive/Pickle Tray, Roasted Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Creamed Asparagus, Cranberry Sauce, Crescent Dinner Rolls, and topped it all off with Sock It To Me Cake and Apple Pie~ - then headed to see the rest of the family~ LOTS OF LONG NAPS afterwards~ A nice day spent with NO T.V. ... a blessing for sure !!! Now, here I come for a little Poetry Parfait, before retiring to the recliner for some quiet reading to soft music~ OF COURSE YOU COULD ALWAYS COME HERE for Thanksgiving my friend ... our home is your home~ LOVE YOU~ I DO ! *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ |

You certainly have the heart of Thanksgiving, Titia, and I am sure you would enjoy the tradition that was given to us, but not "created" by us.... And I am sure you have a holiday or two that you could share? So that we might adopt yours? Send it on! Happy Thanksgiving in Sharing, Titia! |

it's easy to see you have thanksgiving in your heart even if you don't have the celebration. We don't have the celebration either, but I'll be in the sheep thingy we could have a dip. Hang on, sheep dip...not such a good idea. a good commitee can decimate communication. |

Oh, Titia, I would love to be there for your fantasy Thanksgiving. As long as the sheep on the menu was not the one you named "Nightshade". lol. hugs, Chris Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance. |

Loved this wonderful tribute to Thanksgiving from abroad. The sheep thingie might be a bit over the top, but, hey, when your hungry you take what you can get. |

LOL you all have a problem with eating sheep and no problem at all eating that feathered squeaking beast I see no difference in that you know Maureen, thanks for me every day is thanksgiving day Marge, please....I'm trying to loose some weight overhere Sunshine, I don't think we have holidays that you don't have already, at least can't think of one right now. At the moment we're adopting more and more Valentine's day. Who knows, maybe one day we will adopt Thanksgiving day too Balladeer, be glad we don't eat 'Balladeer'. I sold him, he's charming the ladies in Belgium at the moment Dixie, there alway will be plenty of wine, we used to make our own. Keth, LOL your country has more sheep than people Balladeer and Marge, not such a bad idea: vegimite with sheep, mmmmm should taste good Chris, no way, 'Nightshade' is going to Belgium next Wednesday and will be a mother next year Pressie, nothing tastes better than a good piece of roasted mutton Yummi! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving my friends. Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |
