Making Love

The air fumbles around with day
blending lush of leaf with water
smearing palms within reflection
weaving color green with mellow

More than sun and shadow covering
dirt and lizard all a scurry
a face turns on
and reflection cowers
hiding its fish beneath a ripple

The abrupt rocks soften
readying each sparkle in hand
until a stone becomes a diamond
dappled and perfect with belief
because that is what it takes
to make love

Thanks Kacy...I love the way the light plays in that photo!  And big thanks to Karilea/sissie for the help with the photo..the poem wouldn't be the same without it.

Martie,

I love your imagery.  It takes me down to the creek and a few years back!  Beautiful picture of you and the girls!  Nice to read your poetry again; seems there is never enough time!

WOW Martie, isn't it something how fast they grow up?  I think the last time I saw the little one she was in Dad's hands, and I guess still is.   Beautiful girls, all 3.

Read this last week, Martie, and just now had a chance to post (been very, very busy and will be for a few weeks).  The children are lovely and that's a great picture to accompany a very special poem!  Best to you......jo
