lady knows before she knows
hears it in thunder
in rain
it rustles through canebrake
and thicket
settles over house

catfish gumbo bubblin’ hot
hushpuppies fried up crisp
coffee with chicory
makes smell like home

lady passes mop
knowin’ sneaks behind
catches her in mous of breast
wraps breathing in stop

she sits
wet floor
tears
rain
sweated hair
half moon fingers
clutched to fists
beat on knees

lady whispers
mère sainte
peu de fleur
didn’t I pray?
didn’t I kneel?
didn’t I tell my beads?

she wails
oh god
co faire?
why?

lady knows
before she knows
charcoal man
ain’ comin’ home
this night

felt the thunder rollin through ladies belly aching, tears like river rain and pain from lonely sounds and wish I could tell the lady that after every storm, the sun does shine again.     So beautiful this is Kate,

maybe this man of heated wood
needs to start feeling an old fashion emotion
of jealousy in a rival

Dang!!!

Did I get them all now?

I will have to re read all these in order now for continuity's sake.  This is so good.

PS.... my heart aches for her... I know how she feels.

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt and the keyring.

I like to believe that he could hear her when she needed him the most.  He loved her and I don't think he would want her in that much pain.  He just couldn't stay.  It wasn't his way and maybe he hurt because of that too.
