A Secret Love Who is this girl who stole my heart? And why do her eyes shine so bright? Why do I feel I glimpsed her soul; A beacon that brightens the night? How can I ever hope to start A life without her in my arms? Her beauty has a mystic pull; I am helpless, lost in her charms. I would wait a hundred lifetimes, If ever a chance did I sense, To be the man whom she cherished, Whom she loved without a pretense. But she was not born to these climes, And never a sunny day passed, That dreams and smiles have not perished, All banished, each one to the last. This sadness, pervasive and cruel, Is softened by nightime's pure bliss. As visions of her calm my dreams, Where each one is blessed with a kiss. Ah, but mayhap you think me a fool To while away all of my days, In hopes to rend life at its seams, And slip through...if ever it frays? For life could hold no greater hope, And fate could have no kinder end, Than to lend me time and a place Where rules and reality bend. When Eden would broaden its scope, Allowing the Heavens to part, To cherish her beautiful face And hold her love close in my heart. I prefer to be a dreamer among the humblest, with visions to be realized, than lord among those without dreams and desires. -Khalil Gibran |

Thanks, TL! I was waxing poetic again! This time over a girl who lives far, far away--on another continent, yet! She is adorable, she REALLY likes me...and she just got a new boyfriend... Ah, well. What's a hopeless romantic to do? Write about it, of course!
