When the words spent are wasted,
Spent spoiled on the thanks-but-no-thanks ears
Of the person you’ve told all your problems to,
Give meditations to the plebian rule:
Your work is for no one if no one will pay.

And so I used to say, but now wrote in pretty verse,

“Blessed breath, I pluck you in my being born
and set you down once I am dying.”

Once I told my love the same,
Though I know not love at all,
as does a father to the separate son,
telling wisdom relentlessly–pseudo- (loves he fied.
I wish to place it, my box containing god,
To put it somewhere where, when laid at rest
I know it won’t be pushed away;
I’ll know my love shan’t feel in vain.

I wish I could write with the depth that you do...

that great love we feel for others will never be placed in vain...but will gift us...in great ways, even though another is not able to return it in the same way.  Be blessed in knowing loves face, from within, and trust the self to be one's best friend.  Don't look to others to gain anything, not even a spiritual physical love, that you have so experienced.

We humans seem to be a complex sort...we oft times, mistake great loves, to be the physical and sometimes in acting out the physical, we tend to loose what might have been a great lifetime friend...it is wise, to be certain that both feel the same way, before giving God's greatest gift away, hence, preserving a friendship that might last a lifetime.  We do not always meet to become lovers....

Hugs to you, for a wonderful contemplation...

My eyes are blinded by love. In fact, my affections were not of the sexual kind, but of the mutual kind, I only wanted a person who would take affections with affection.

Excellent words and thoughts..very honest
feelings and a subject that is probably the
one thing that gives us humans fits more
than any one other thing.

Matt, LeeJ has it right. We all have known someone we admire and respect enough to call it love. You will one day meet that person or persons.  Just keep an open heart as it shows in you now. sincerely, martyjo
