O’ weeping willows weep for me,
Weep tears of pain for all to see.
Lift up your head and hear my plea,
For I have lost my fight to be.

This season’s change has left me here,
And winters chill is very near.
My stems demise comes soon I fear,
I’ll never see another year.

My petals brightened by the sun,
Have fallen from me, save but one.
And nature’s course is all but run,
From seed to seed my life is done.

Wow I was surprised at the ending....wasn't expecting the reference to death....

I love the weep-of-willowed words~

Well not only the willows be weeping, I be as well! My goodness this was so sad and desolate.

Exceptionally expressive and heart-tugging.

Sending some sun to put the leaves back on the trees and the petals back on the flowers.

Beautifully written!

Giving you a warm, welcoming hug,

Earth Angel

I wish I could send the picture that served as the focal point for the poem. It's almost as if the flower wrote it for me!
